Second Lieutenant Robert Wilson

 

Robert Wilson enlisted in the North Irish Horse on 19 or 20 October 1914 (No.1325 – later Corps of Hussars No.71337).

He embarked for France on 17 November 1915 with F Squadron.

Having risen to the rank of sergeant, in late 1917 he applied for a commission. Following training at an officer cadet squadron in the UK, on 6 April 1918 he was appointed 2nd lieutenant and posted to the 2nd Reserve Cavalry Regiment.

On 13 January 1919 he was admitted to the Indian Army Reserve of Officers following a period of probation, with seniority from 6 April 1918. He served in India in the 3rd Skinner's Horse cavalry regiment.
